Is yemen a potential enemy?

Historically, it's not ours, which is really strange considering how close we are to it, but if we become a strong country we can annex it and make it independent while respecting their language and culture, building infrastructure for them and giving them some benefits. . If they accept that, the Yemenis will not do anything, because in the end they are the ones who accepted that, and the Somalis living there will not be affected

Socotra isn’t even ours guys never has been never will be
It's geographically in the Somali sphere more so than Yemen. The inhabitants, on the other hand, were southern Arabians from eastern modern Yemen and western modern Dhofar, related to Hadramis and Shehri speakers -- probably a direct in-between those variations. The island was controlled by ancient Hadramawt back in antiquity.

Somalis, at most, were traders on the coast, similar to all other traders like the Parthians, Greeks, Axumites, Indians, etc -- who did not influence meaningfully the inland indigenous inhabitant's gene pool.

No one treats them as anything more than the 5'5 they are sxb. They were getting chopped up and left to die in galbeed desert by us.

We'll take south yemen and Socotra some day
What claims do Somalis actually have to socotra aside from proximity?

Are there any documented contacts between us and socotrans?

I would be like Putin speaking about historical claims to Socotra and galbeed if I were president :shaq:
I would go further that's basic sxb.

"Somalia's statehood goes back to the Mogadishu Sultanate founded in 925AD.
It's a kingdom which founded cities like sofala in Mozambique and ruled Northern Madagascar as well as the Said of Mogadishu taking and converting Maldives. These are all essential parts of the Somali realm."

"Abyssinia is a long dead kingdom and in it's wake is a British client state created post 1860s, a multicultural state called Ethiopia.
Somalis however, have a historic claim to the kingdom as Imam ahmad officially became the ruler of Abyssinia circa 1541. Therefore ethiopia, Eritrea is rightful parts of Somali realm."

Biggest reason why acquiring socotra is a must. Look how completely xooged those waters are.

Socotra belongs to Yemen. Genetically they have lower African ancestry than even Yemenis, plus they speak a South Semitic language.

It's not xoog simply because it's their land and therefore that exclusive economic zone rightfully belongs to them.

Being closer to Somalia doesn't mean anything. If you want Socotra then go back and ask Somalis to migrate there a few centuries ago.

Socotra isn't ours to take lmao. There is no case for it whatsoever. So what if their EEZ cuts us off from Oman? Why should we jeopardized our relationship with Yemen over this? We already have a ton of coastline we should be focused on keeping and developing.

Besides, we saw what happened with Eritrea and the Hanish islands, the IC deemed it to belong to Yemen even though the Eritreans xooged them militarily.
The international community has given parts of the disputed territories to both Yemen and Eritrea.

Eritrea owns huge territory in the Redsea because Eritrea has many islands. (Above 300 including parts of the hanish islands)

but one must also admit that Yemen also does violate the international borders of its neighbors when their fisherman cross Eritrean seas to fish in Eritrea‘s waters like they do in Somalia.

Or when Houthis shoot rockets at international cargos when they are crossing Djibouti‘s and Eritrea‘s side of the Bab Al Mandeb
