is this true about women?

Wow, you’ve finished the Somali community and ripped them into shreds. We really that bad huh?

I dont care if anyone calls me a self hater. It is what I have observed in my three decades in the community. It's the truth for the vast majority. Oh, I forgot combative, argumentative and trying to win even when they know they're completely wrong.

Being married to 90% of under 55 Somalis would be a damn nightmare. I totally get it when the reasonable, cool Somalis marry out. They don't have a good match for them in the community. Somalis make terrible spouses for the most part.

The characteristics of many under 55 Somali women: aaf taag/resting face and full of negative emotions (I flee when I see this), would rather die than contribute her money to help pay bills, less supportive than other women, manipulative, narcissistic, undiagnosed mental problems, etc.

The characteristics of many under 55 Somali men: too individualistic, emotionless and cold, manipulative, narcissistic, doesn't help with housework, has an abundance mindset, poor coping skills, undiagnosed mental problems, etc
You overgeneralize a lot about the Somali community. It’s your observation from those you’re around. 90% is such a high number.

Those who marry out make decisions based on “love” and feelings. Has nothing to do with not finding a good match in the community. Someone who wants to marry a Somali spouse looks for their ideal spouse from all sorts of places and locations around the globe. Seems to me they didn’t try hard enough to find a Somali if they really wanted one.

I'm not really around Somalis anymore. But yes, I was around Somalis that I grew up with and went to school with or communities I have seen during my trips to other countries. Sometimes I go to the Somali restaurant and see drama and chaos. I read and hear of stories online and there's a clear pattern. Even ajnabis know about it.

You’ve unfortunately been in scenarios with people who are dysfunctional and so you believe most of us are like this. It’s a given that outsiders will stereotype people based on the few interactions they have with a group. But, it’s sad when a Somali person does it to their own group.

I understand you point these things out so people will ultimately change but still it’s not good to assume most of us are like the dysfunctional ones. And besides these behaviors are all ones that can be corrected. Our community isn’t as hopeless as you make it seem.
