Is there no social or economical benifits in learning the Somali language?

I hear people saying our language has no value in the world and especially in the western world. To me that is absolutely false however, I would like to hear your opinions on the matter.

true our language has no value in the western world. i just speak somali to family and somali friends but thats it i also dont see why people are acting like its important in the west we just need to hold our language and culture as part of our identity but not more than that we should focus on english , spanish if you want to succeed in the western world because you wont speak somali outside somalia

It definitely has social merits (such as speaking with family, friends, tethering yourself to the culture) and you could capitalise off your knowledge of the language e.g. translation, teaching the language etc.

Once you lose the Somali language it is fair to say your deen will slowly diminish as well the two are intertwined becsuss Somali is the language of the Muslims. When that happens the ability to distinguish right from wrong will diminish also. So there is huge significance in rataining your identity. So I would say it has social benefits and especially economical benefits, Somaliland/Somalia is developing and the resources are abundent with skills and or capital the world is your oyster.

What correlation does Islam have with knowing how to speak Somali? There are plenty of non-Somalis who are very much religious and pious.
Also, how does speaking Somali affect your moral compass bc unfortunately, you see a few fluently speaking Somalis bila caqli iyo wanaag

Our culture is heavaily intertwined with the religion

If you look at the western world as a whole and the Somalis living there? Do we really have economical superiority than our counterparts in Somaliland/Somalia

If you listen closely to Somalis speaking they always praise Allah and thank him for all the blessings such as health, wealth etc. And always pray for those who have passed or pray if yiu generally if you have committed a good deed e. g. IIaahay miisaanka xasanaadka ha idinku daroo oo cadaab ha idinkaga xoreeyo...

That’s true but language is only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to dhaqan

I understand that but what about an atheist who’s fluent in Somali? What does that mean then?

How many atheists are there in the Somali community and what are the chances of fluency of Somali? Having said that I'd they happened to know our language, it would be meaningless because as I stated earlier the language is strongly intertwined with Islam when spoken.

Yes. There's value in knowing the Somali language.

Somali language to me, is superior to every tongue, but equal to Arabic.

You don't learn a language to extract value. Language is for communication, and there's no limitation on how many you choose to learn.
