I find it quite puzzling how some individuals fail to acknowledge the evident truth that female genital mutilation is overwhelmingly orchestrated and carried out by women. The practice is deeply rooted in female involvement, from its initiation to its perpetuation, even depicted in statues. Mentioning this fact appears to be a counterintuitive move against the thread creator's argument. It's truly a marvel of logic!
Somali women have been brainwashed and indoctrinated by Somali men to undergo FGM. No women will go out of her way to harm and damage her own body. Women who haven't done FGM are seen as ritually unclean and not suitable for marriage by Somali men back home. Most Somali women back home fear being outcast and having no marriage prospect if they don't undergo FGM. Most Somali men back home don't want that primitive ritual to end. Somali women have been mentally conditioned and indoctrinated to undergo FGM by Somali men.

My mother, grandmother, and aunts would laugh at you. You are just a Western femcel who has probably never been to Somalia and is trying to cope. The reasons you mentioned are false. My father, uncles, did not want female genital mutilation (FGM), but the women did it anyway and are proud. It is a matter of status and competition. If you would get your head out of your ass for once, you would realize that the man gets zero sexual benefit from FGM, and in fact, it can make childbirth more dangerous for the woman.
Yes they have fear of being shamed and outcasted by their fellow women and thats fact majority of Somali men do not even know the process or how its done or what it even does and we can do interview and test back home its all women business and taboo to speak on even in my house.
Those who resist the ban of FGM still conduct the procedure to please the men of their tribe. The belief is that a young girl who is not cut is promiscuous and will be unfaithful to her husband once she is married. No young girl will go out of her own way to harm and damage her own body. Somali men play a huge role in the widespread practice of FGM in Somalia. The vast majority of Somali men back home are not vocal about banning FGM. There are rarely any Somali male activists or organizations in Somalia seeking to eradicate FGM. You are using subjective emotional experience to dismiss the huge role Somali men play towards FGM. FGM in Somalia has always been for the benefit of men. Your male relatives' stance on FGM is not the prevalent social attitude amongst Somali men in Somalia. Incels like yourself are always in denial.

I won't waste my energy on someone who blames men for FGM and promotes a communist-liberal feminist agenda. I can already see the state of your mind and your lack of understanding about Somali culture and tradition.
The belief that promiscuity or unfaithfulness can be linked to female genital mutilation (FGM) is not supported by evidence. FGM is a harmful practice with deep cultural roots, but it is not a solution to prevent infidelity. Associating FGM with preventing unfaithfulness is a misconception and does not have any factual basis. Even Google will tell you this since your head is still in your ass.
I've seen first-hand that men often have no influence over the decision regarding FGM for their daughters. I can provide an example: even if they object and express their refusal, women may still proceed with it covertly, as was the case with my own uncles and father.
I've decided to make this my final statement on the topic of FGM. Even if all the women and mothers in my homeland were to express the same sentiment, these liberal Western proponents would still find ways to deflect blame onto men. It's disheartening to witness this lack of courage and accountability. Victimizing oneself and acting without consideration is both frustrating and disappointing.
It's the belief amongst Somali men that FGM will prevent promiscuity and unfaithfulness. I was regurgitating the belief amongst Somali men which has no foundational or factual basis, not my personal view. Learn to read properly. You are just ranting all over the place and giving a subjective emotional response. You lack intellectual depth to critically and constructively engage in this topic.
