Is mob justice a thing back home?

I ask because alot of nations seem to have this issue in Africa, particularly West and Central Africa. If so, how severe is it? If a random guy shouts thief at you - are you cooked?

People in Somalia have went through 34 years of chaos they probably gave up on mob justice for small crimes like theft but for big ones like rape or murder it still exists.

Where I come from, such incidents are not common. However, if someone from a majority clan were to commit a heinous act like murder against a member of a minority clan, justice would prevail through the proper procedures of xeer law. The established process ensures fairness: the blood price may be accepted as compensation, or, if rejected, the perpetrator faces the death penalty for the homicide.

The north didn't suffer from the dismantlement of xeer law like the south, the Italians rooted it from the ground up, while the British rarely interfered outside of the ports.

Don’t know about Somalia but Kenya it very much is. One time in Eastleigh I saw a guy getting jumped right in front of masjid al hidaya for stealing

I don't have sticky fingers, however I've seen a lot of graphic videos showing results of this so called jungle justice - I was simply curious as to weather it was frequent in Somalia too.
