I am so sorry to hear this, ninkaan wuu waalanyahay and he is waiting for WHEN to harm you.
Please do not confront him or warn him. Just run away and do it so that he doesn't suspect you're escaping.
Trying to 'rehabilitate' a murderous mind is not worth your life. May Allah SWT protect you. Somalis will try to get you back together, don't fall for it.
- Immediately tell people you trust, so that there is evidence of his behaviour.
- Make this call when you are outside the house, safely away from him. NO messages and tell your trusted people to not call you or message you about this.
- Delete evidence of the call. Don’t change up your behaviour, act the same.
- In case he has bugged the house or there are cameras, act very casual and never make those critical calls at home.
- He could be bugging the house/cameras watching you, so forget about your worldly possessions. So don't go around packing etc. All you need is your passport, phone, and bank card to book a ticket and get out.
- In case he has hacked your emails/knows your passwords, change everything, but do this just before you escape so he is not suspicious. OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, so if he gets angry/ a notification, he can't reach you.
- Turn off location sharing.
- The day of the escape, factory reset your phone (there could be spyware) or buy a burner phone or use a secure messaging app (like Signal) to communicate with trusted people.
- Avoid using shared devices/accounts that he might access.
- Change your passwords on all accounts (email, social media, bank accounts) using a secure, private device just before you escape. Enable two-factor authentication for extra security.
After the successful escape Insha'Allah
- Inform your workplace, school, or other key contacts to prevent him from contacting you there.
- Research restraining orders or protective orders, and seek legal assistance if needed.
- Change all your contact details (email, phone numbers, social media) to avoid further contact.
