The North Africans I've seen on social media
are either berber, amazigh ethno nationalist who have deep contempt for Arabs or Arab nationalist who seriously believe they are full blood Arabs when in reality most of them are just mixed Not to mention there are others who seriously believe they are white Europeans who descend from Germanic tribes they've got a serious identity crisis.

That's my general rule. I foolishly made an exception because I haven't interacted with her in ages and only knew she made it into one of my country's best medical schools. A good reminder for us all that education doesn't grant wisdom automatically.

I mean she KIND of has a point about her being Arab since out of most North Africans the Tunisians and Libyans have the highest amount of Arab DNA unlike their Algerian and Moroccan counterparts.

North Africa due to it's geography has always been a mixture of different people, but "Amazigh" is quite simple.
It's a mixture of Anatolian Neolithic Farmer + IBM (SSA/ANA + West Asian) mostly.
Tdlr it means most of the ancestry of Amazigh people does indeed originate in West Asia which is why they share most of their ancestry with middle easterners genetically but have very very different proportions. Of course this ancestry is very ancient which is why they are considered native.
Germanic Tribes? Most of their ancestry is West Asia? There were Vandals that invaded but they had no genetic impact whatsoever, the arab invasions had a minor genetic impact.

I never questioned her identity as an individual. Read what I wrote again, but slowly this time.
I'll summarise the context for just for you. She was calling herself Semitic as an individual solely because she was from an Arab country, which is a logical fallacy. I already respect her Arab identity, as I know it's a cultural and linguistic heritage not strictly ethnic.
I was pointing out that the argument is weaker from a rational standpoint because the REGION (not her) has less Arab blood than the Middle East. It wouldn't matter if she herself was more Arab, because in the heat of the argument, no one is asking for DNA tests and the perception of "North Africans being less Arab" is too stuck in its place to be shaken off like that. Why risk embarassing yourself before Zionists who spend a lot of time researching Ancient Judea who could easily think of that counterargument?
Think of something else, is all I said. This woman is sensitive and so are you.
