Is Globalisation beneficial?

Many of you would’ve been camel herders. I can’t relate as I would’ve been an Urbanite.

I think its good. of course it has its negatives but remember our purpose in this Dunya is a test and through globalization Islam spread that's the only way for the deen to spread for so many souls to enter jannah with Allah's permission. That's the only reason many countries are muslim globalization and that's how Allah's qadr works most of the time through our reality what we can witness.

Many of you would’ve been Pastorlists but you don’t even know it.

Not all Somalis were living in pastoralist lifestyle. Saxib. Most of them were in government and leading other sophisticated positions. Majority of my family were part of the Habr Awal sub clan. My grand father (RIP) was a very successful businessman. And most of the Habar Awal were all successful businesses. I can’t speak for all Somalis. But my father (RIP) He was also part of the same clan and same sub clan.. So you could say my father was living in a pastoralist lifestyle.

You know I was kind of thinking. If all Somalis were living pastoralist lifestyle. Would all our mental health issues go away? I’ve heard the Somali community have some form of mental health issues. Maybe Somalis weren’t cut out for this mega industrial cities. Maybe genetically we were design to live in a pastoral lifestyle. Who knows.

I was thinking how our mental health would shift if this is the case.

:hmm:

What mental health issues do ’we’ have? 😂

I would have been chilling in Bosaso if it weren’t for globalization. I may or may not be living good.

However for myself globalization has given me a good life, good food and a good lifestyle that i wouldn’t trade alhamdulilah.

Autism, OCD and ADHD is very common in the Somali community. Most of my family have this. You never know? I don’t think Somalis were cut out for this western environments. With Modifed foods and other chemicals that’s been imported from the west. And excuse me: I’m not speaking for all Somalis but also all people in the west from every race.

@Shimbiris Explain better it than I could

People understimate how much social skills and being comfortable around other people can atrophy with these unnatural, previously impossible, modern lifestyles we've created. Historically, especially in our paleolithic setting, you'd be outside and around people like your HG band 24/7 and become acclimated to and, frankly, thrive in that alongside consuming more nutrient dense, less toxic foods that could properly fuel your mental and hormonal vigor.

Nowadays we have created far too many draining and inferior alternatives to this. Don't go out and talk to people. Just sit in your room and chat with people thousands of kilometers away via scribbles on the internet rather than face to face conversations that hone your ability to pick up on and use social cues to your advantage. Don't get a partner. Just drain all your vigor and horniness on p0rn. All while eating nutrient deficient kibble diets. The mind becomes comfortable in this state and going out socializing, building real bonds, having real ambition and challenging yourself becomes too daunting and people convince themselves they're "introverts" and can even develop all sorts of degenerate misanthropic views. It's a shitshow and not autism.

Legitimate autism is becoming more common, though. Seems to be in part due to compromised gut micorbiomes.

I’ve heard people say living in a pastoralist could have a better mentality. Maybe that’s me. Maybe I wanted to try what’s is like living in a pastoralist lifestyle. And avoid all technology and other refined foods. That what got me thinking.

Living free from western poison.

One thing about globalization that I think is sad is the loss of cultural expression. Everything looks the same, sounds the same, buildings, clothing music etc. I understand why this is but it’s still sad nonetheless

One interesting thing is why has Arab clothing survived where others haven’t? Thobes are daily wear and home wear and formal wear. Koreans don’t wear hanbok or Chinese dont wear Hanfu.

It's made the world a smaller place. Without globalization, we wouldn't have any cultural exchange to create a monstrosity like this.

You can’t deny that globalisation has led to the loss of culture, just look at photos from any country from 19-20th century and how the people were dressed and compare it to today. Everyone, everywhere has abandoned their own clothing & culture and wear the same shirts and jeans.

And also the linguistic changes that globalisation has brought, with English seeping into languages across the world, this is especially true in urban centres.

You’ll see people around the world, especially in capital cities, abandon their own native words in favour of English words instead. All because most of the media and entertainment consumed globally is in English.

Im incredibly fascinated by history and its one of my main hobbies. With that being said there is no time period in the past. I'd rather live in than now. I can accumulate wealth, knowledge, and possessions beyond the wildest dreams of the most powerful ancient rulers, let alone my ancestors. Considering I'm only in my 20s, I'll see countless future technological wonders beyond my imagination and probably see affordable spaceflight within my lifetime.
