Is anyone else angry Somali history before colonization is not well known?

The Ethiopian hate for Somalis really needs to be studied. I can understand us hating you for ocupiying our land but nobody’s history is insignificant. Also you cherry pick oral tradition to degrade our history but that same oral tradition elavates and even at times exaggerate our history. Pick your poison .
I am not Ethiopian. It is fairly normal view though? Somalis are a pastoral people, it is normal for Somalis to not produce as complex socieities as Nubia/Sudan, Abysinnia, Egypt? This does not mean there is no history, it is better than the vast majority of SSA ethnicities, many of whom were straight up hunter gatherers.

Civilization is how you manage surpluses and the systems you build to maintain that. Somalis like most pastoral people's live in a desert so we didn't manage to produce a surplus but instead had to take it from others that did.

Unfortunately, the Oromo are sitting on the land groups like Somalis normally would have occupied, farmed and settled, but there is some successes like NFD. There is no shame in this btw, it's just how our geography shaped us.

How do you define a complex society?

1. Most Somalis converted to Islam in the 15th century. Somalis don't have a long tradition and history with Islam.

2. Futush al Habash had nothing to do with Somalis. Arab faqiqh states, "Ethio-Semitic speakers formed the dominant section of the Adal population." Most Somalis were reluctant to join the jihad against Ethiopia. They cited their impoverished condition as a reason for not joining the Jihad. Once again, Somalis were just nomads roaming around the desert during the Futush-al-Habesh period.
1. Arab faqiq never said Ethio-semetic were dominant in Adal

2. This complete lie by the fact when the most honorable fighter and brother- in-law of the imam ahmed was Somali. he even killed son of Dawit II son

3. Somali nomads are constantly on the move in search of water and pasture. They keep moving because most of their places are uninhabitable due to the harsh climate and scarce resources. Nomadic societies are generally lawless and anarchic. Somalis only have a history of never ending tribal conflicts.

The nomadic Somali tribes have invaded and forcefully occupied parts of the present state of Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya which were populated by non-ethnic groups.
1. Somalis do have a rich and long tradition and history with Islam. Claiming otherwise just goes to show that you’re a sheegato. The Companions of the Prophet literally built the mosque of Qibyatain in Zeila during the Hijrah and if you’re talking about mass conversions, look no further than cities like Berbera, Mogadishu, Zeila, Barawe, Merca accepting Islam which helped penetrate the interior Somaliweyn through trade and cultural exchange.
2. Claiming the Conquest of Abyssinia had nothing to do with Somalis is the most stupidest shit you could utter on Horn history lol. Most of the Noblemen and war generals in Adal were Somali and so were their men. Ahmad the Left-Handed had personally welcomed them to when they had arrived at Harar for war yet didn’t even utter a word when Harla/Hararis came to him. Ethio-Semetics didn’t rule nor had a majority population in Adal, Ifat or any other Muslim dominion of the Horn. One, because that term didn’t exist back then. Two, it was made up of lowlanders who were eventually absorbed by us. Three, even the Ethiopian Emperors who warred against us said that they were a Foreign non-Abyssinian people.
3. You seem to think that nomadicism is the only thing in Somali society and we simply lived in the deserts our whole existence. Forget about the fact about how important nomads were in shaping all of world history. Somalis were not simply nomads, they’re were also city dwellers who lived on the coastline who lead merchant and rich lifestyles, there were also sedentary farmers from Hararghe to the Koonfur and lived in fertile lands. All these lifestyles complimented one another. You also said our society was lawless and anarchic back then but so was the whole world at that time and you’re definitely exaggerating it as well. Considering your Ethiopian and at the same time warlords were ruling your country in the Zemene Fesafint.

Having surplus food to allow the population to live above subsistence, and economic stability. People no longer had to practice farming, allowing a diverse array of professions and interests to flourish in a relatively confined area. Large population centers, etc. Our brightest were/are stuck herding camels

What history? Essentially internecine tribal conflict stretching a millenia. The only really 3 events notable was The adoption of Islam, Futuh al Habash and the crossing into Northern Kenya. That's pretty much it. Not very glorious, but quite decent for an African ethnic group.

Even the Sayyid was not really pre colonial as more of a reaction to colonialism. But really, pre 1880, not much happened. Can't be compared to something like Zemene Mesafint in Ethiopia for example.
Self hatred saxib. read my above post. Islamic kingdoms in the Horn were either started by us or had immense influence coming from us and we defended Islam in the region for centuries against kuffar from the Ethios to the Portuguese, Italians, British.
Though if that’s your opinion of Somali history, then I dont care too much. I’m here to learn more and debunk stupid claims not change someone’s opinions.

Not every Somali was geeljire, there were those that formed city states and were urban dwellers. I think you're oversimplifying Somalis as just all camel herders.

I would argue Somalia had a better coastal and naval history compared to any SSA country including Ethiopia. Somalis were a important ally to the the Ottoman against the Portuguese.

To answer the original post made by @DangerBadan. I wouldn’t feel to bad about foreigners not knowing our history lol. Most people don’t even know their own. The only mainstream history is British/Egyptian

His last statement is pretty harsh. The urban dwellers and those that formed the city states were not ethnic Somalis. They were Arabs/Banadiri. Somalis were primarily geeljires that roamed around the desert in search of pasture and water for their livestock.

How does it feel to be a complete ret*rd? Having zero proof of your claims, no genetic evidence, no sources, absolutely nothing except colonial garbage thats already been debunked by a bunch of scholars?

As if sayyid of Mogadishu didn't translate chinese works to Somali, the first African language to do so during the medieval ere.
Ajuran sultanate which has manuscripts about it but not published sadly.
The ancient somali city states.
We just need more archeology, the whole reason we learned Ethiopia was the first/second Christian nation was because of one stone tablet found
