Well, those Hawiye “elders” turned Somalia into a zoo and Sunnis in Iraq turned into Adoons for Shia radicalism. What goes around comes around. In any case, the Somali gov would have fallen irrespective of some Iraqi money.

The Somali guys post does not seem accurate when he wrote 10 countries objected and 10 supported the western intervention resolution, with Somali being the ultimate decider of the vote. According to a quick google the pro intervention vote would have gone through even if Somalia supported Iraq or abstained:

• In Favor:Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Somalia, Lebanon, Djibouti, and Syria.
• With Reservations:Sudan, Mauritania, and Jordan.
• Abstained:Algeria and Yemen.
• Against:Iraq, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and Libya.
• Absent:Tunisia was the only country that did not attend.
