The Iram of the Pillars is considered a lost city of region mentioned in the Quran.

The Quran mentions Iram in connection with ‘imad(pillars): Surah al-Fajr (6-14). Which got punished for being like Fircoun the Pharoah of Egypt; for being too overbearing and being a tyrant.​

6: Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Aad –
7: [With] Iram – who had lofty pillars,
8: The likes of whom had never been created in the lands
9: And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

The oldest mention of the city of Iram was found in the Ebla tablets, dated from c. 2500 BCE to c. 2250 BCE.

Which was coincidentally around the same time that the Kingdom of Punt was said to be founded.

It was said by Ptolemy said that the decline of the region was probably due to a reduction in the frankincense trade caused by the conversion of the Roman Empire to Christianity, which did not require incense in the same quantities for its rituals.

Now they say that the region is in Oman, but that doesn’t make much sense because what frankincense does Oman produce? Somalia since ancient times to this day is the one who produces the most Frankincense which is 80-90% of the worlds supply. I heard that The Kingdom of Punt fell out of favor because they stopped producing Frankincense. So what Ptolemy said lines up with the Ancient Land Of Punt

I would like to add on to this showing in the Log of “Periplus of the Erythean Sea” The observer writes about large pillars with unknown letters on them. Noting that these pillars are large and unusual.
