Former GM President has stated that this article was included into the draft bill without debate in the house and should be furthered discussed as this may potentially muddy the waters in regards to the separation of power between the legislative and the executive; the current presidential system gives the mandate to select the Prime minister to the President.

Why bother having so called elections if the parliament will just select the president?

All the parliamentarians will get paid off as usual and this whole exercise would have just been a waste of time.

This pertains to 1M1V.

For example, If by a miracle @SomaliWadaniSoldier H.utu*ing's uncle C/man Cabdishakur's party Wadajir wins the most seats in both the L/U house, the President will have select a member of the Wadajir party as Prime minister.
Why would it be a miracle? We have no polls too look off so don’t know where anyone stands according to the public

This is Parliaments draft not the Government's btw

These parliamentarians want to hijack the election and continue to monopolise the election of the President.

Kkkkk you should see how he performed in previous elections.(dropped out of 2012 election/abysmal showing in the 2017 election).
Those were selections not elections though, I’m not a fan of his but maybe he’s not popular with his peer politicians or doesn’t have the money to pay or bid for their votes like other candidates, 1p1v is a different thing entirely as it’s actually running for public office which is something none of these Somali politicians have ever done or have experience in doing in a democratic way(were talking about things like height/attractiveness/oration coming to discussion, pandering for votes, demographic of voters women majority and young different ball game), like I said we also have no current polling so don’t know where anyone stands, it’s as wide open a field as ever if 1p1v
