With the exception of UGUS dominated areas, the D/M (or RX) are in control of their territories, so I don't know what you meant by being humiliated. Under Laftagareen presidency, the KG State of Somalia has been building up their state including forming capable security forces. So they're gradually building up their own capacity.

D/M are a patient people, and while rest of the Somalis are engaged in constant overseas migrations or fights, they're quadrupling their population numbers. At the end, these population numbers will count.

RX territory was the battlefield between Darood and Hawiye militia for much of the 1990s as May people were by far the least armed major clan in Somalia. RX went through:

-Being victims of Darood & Hawiye wars, losing hundreds of thousands in famine.
-Being rescued by Ethiopian direct military intervention in favor of RRA in Bay & Bakool.
-Being Gacanyare during AY presidency and supporting his endeavors.
-Becoming Al Shabaab main recruiting base, the majority of its soldiers and occupied areas.
-Supporting AS for lacking a militia of your own against the neighboring sub clans
-Being denied 6 region state by Axmed Islam Madoobe.
-Losing eastern Gedo and southern M. Juba to 2 Darood sub sub clans in JL.
-Gradually losing LS to Hawiye migration from the north, particularly HG expansion from GM
-Reduced to being scattered across Somalia as disadvantaged IDPs from Kismayo to Hargeisa.


Raxanweyn as a whole are a cautionary tale to what happens to major clan if it stops arming itself. Any sub clan would meet the same faith if they don't acquire arms and fight back, swallowed by AS or xooged by the closest Somali sub clan.

Let us get real, the famine in the riverine happened because factional leaders in Mogadishu prevented the food aid from reaching Bay and Bakool. This was what triggered former President George Bush Senior to send the Marines so they opened the roads and get the food aid from reaching the starving people in Bay and Bakool.

And we all know General Morgan was not in control of Mogadishu.
