Infighting continues in Puntland - Three more killed in Bosaaso clashes between rival forces

Mogadishu (HOL) -At least three Puntland soldiers were killed and several others, including civilians, wounded when rival Puntland forces clashed in Bossaso on Friday.


The clash occurred along the coast of Bossaso, 1,500km northeast of Mogadishu, and is said to be sparked by pre-existing heightened tensions between police and Puntland Security Forces (PSF), an anti-terror unit.

In December 2021, at least 14 people were killed, and 63 others were injured following two days of intense fighting between the two security forces in the commercial port town of Bosaso.

Reports are suggesting that this is indeed a continuation of the Diyaano v Deni war. PSF was fighting against the Bosaaso police - three soldiers/police were killed.
