Buddist locals alongside the national army intentionally committed mass atrocities against them which lead to the deaths of tens of thousands in a short period of time. They were left with no choice but to flee the country, which was part of the agenda since they don't recognize Rohyingas as citizens.
What's worse is that the majority of Burmese supported the army against Rohyingas. Recently, the military took over the country and some people decided to pick up arms and rebel against the junta. The army responded by bombing them and fighting back. Now Burmese are begging the world to support them. It clearly back-fired on them as they've received little support.
May Allah punish those who committed crimes against humanity and those who abided and supported them.

Here's a video by aljazeera two weeks before this incident. Indonesians are complaining that many of their own people are sleeping in the streets and that they don't have money to support refugees.
Similar incidents were happening in Bangladesh 5 years ago but their economy has been doing good in the recent years so their hatred against the rohingya refugees has dissipated.

You can be against migrants/refugees all you want, but nothing will ever justify mobs attacking innocent people who've fled horror. If Indonesians have issues with Rohingyas, they should limit themselves to criticizing their government.
I agree 100% the people who attacked the refugees were students they tend to be more emotional and don't think rationally. I've been going through Indonesian TikTok about this issue and translating the comments they mostly are supporting the students with a few condemning the incident. It seems that for most Indonesians they're patience has reached its limit

Yep, people all over the world are done being nice to refugees because they take up resources from locals and usually don't assimilate.
I made a thread about this. Good thing Somalia collapsed in the 90s when the west had a strong "we are the world" attitude.
We're also lucky that back then social media was not a stuff and we mostly went into other countries with very few media attention on us. Throughout all over the world people are turning against refugees and blaming them for the economic situation.
This issues are even happening in somalia Oromos are being deported in Hargeisa.

Yeah I've always believed the economy is almost always the source of most issues. People become more hateful when the economy is lagging behind. When they're economically thriving, they stop caring about refugees.
In reality everyone is tribalistic, religion will always come second no matter how much they claim to be deeply devout.
People will always put their ethnicity/tribe first, religion second.
Although part of the problem with refugees globally, from what I've seen, is linked to the state of the economy and housing.
If the country has space for the refugees and can safely house them, without adding a burden to the people, then people will not be opposed.
But if you don't have the infrastructure to house refugees, then people will quickly turn on them and start blaming them for everything.
However you must also keep in mind that some refugees do not respect the law or the culture of the country that has accepted them, which can also breed resentment among the locals.
That's reality. An Indonesian Muslim will consider a Catholic Indonesian he's brother then a rohingya Muslim.
Reminds me of Oromo Muslim considering oromo Christians their brother than the amhara Muslims they were massacring.
No Oromo is targeted by mobs, we are civilized.
Not yet but know that once people's patience reach their limits it's definitely gonna happen. Here's a video of oromos being deported in cages it happened last year
This will never happen Oromos work jobs that locals consider demeaning, you'll never see a lamagoodle working in farms, barbershops,car wash, garages etc. Its not even a competition for resources since we're arguably worse off than Oromia.
