These Western guys always only go to Somaliland. It's almost becoming a meme (Drew Binsky and the guy from Rare Earth did the same thing). They are afraid of the real Somalia.

The lack of paved roads gives that dirty vibe, but it's not actually dirty just dusty.

This guy also visited Iraq, specifically the Kurdish region, which tells you that he doesn't take the full risk. Their restraints are reasonable, considering the realities in Somalia and how the media have focused on the negative aspects where current perception is total anarchy filled with angry Barkhad Abdis.

Only compared to South Somalia, not compared to the rest of the world, not even other East African countries.

Somalilanders, Djiboutians, and Puntlanders need to drop this economic superiority complex.
