Our culture does not value sports as a career, most of those athletes with the exception of very few genetic lottery winners, have been playing since they were toddlers in little league. Their parents dropped them off every day for practice, showed up their games, cheered them on even at home and so on. I don't believe that the "Madowweyne" in the 'New world' are genetically predisposed to excellence in sports.

Kenyan and Tanzanian "Madows" would perform better in a range of sports if they were focused on it and had the resources to pursue it.

There was a small study conducted comparing somalis girls and african americans girls bone density, somalis have lower bone density than african americans and to a smaller extent whites. Researchers say its due to consuming dairy, but I think its just an adaption that arose prior to domestication. I think it includes nilotics too since they have a higher risk of osteoporosis and that's linked to lower bone density

There was also an interesting study that states somali girls at a healthy bmi have an "obese/overweight" body fat %. This was shown in a study with Ethiopians of all ages and both sexes. Definately to do with unhealthy lifestyles and malnutrition tho.
