Every time I open Google Earth I just keep finding these unnamed deegaans in Shabelle Dhexe.

South’s population has been undercounted in my opinion due to variety of factors over the last 30 years

Every single time I go on google earth to check out s/dhexe I see a new one. Must be thousands of these types of small rural town.

According to UNPF Shibis,Kaaraan,Yaaqshiid and Boondheere's total population alone constitute 43,5% of Banaadir's population. I'd say we make around 60-70% of Xamar's population.

If Beletweyna is 800,000 Kismayo, Baido, and Galckayo are a million. But most stats are nothing but lies won't know the truth until a real count is down. That being said Beltweyna is no small city but I doubt it.

Keep in mind that in 1956 Warsangeli and Dhulbahante were in British Somaliland not Italian Somaliland. So while a census would have counted almost all D&M, a large chunk of Darod would not be counted.

The census will start in the urban population then move to the rural and nomadic populations. "Before the count is conducted, there will be mapping of the country using satellite imagery of towns and cities, villages, and rural areas," Mapping will take about eight months. There will also be training for the 30,000 data collectors before the counting starts in October 2024.
