Many people in America think they are invincible because they can use the law whenever they want. I remember an example was a video of a couple who got into an altercation with their neighbour over shovelling snow onto his driveway. The guy came out with a pistol and the couple threatened to call the police and continued to insult and goad him even saying "shoot me". Turns out the guy had nothing to lose, emptied a clip into them both, went back to his house and came back with an assault rifle which he finished them off with.
