Do you think Somalia is ready for a female President? Do you support Fadumo Dayib's candidacy?

Minister,

Not sure whether you've seen my other two questions....:vo3yidw:
Seeing as your Ministry has limited funding, wouldn't it be wiser to leave or at least share, the research with experienced research centres like the PDRC?

Minister,

I understand that you have been working hard to naturalise IDP's in Puntland. How is this process coming along?
Secondly, if IDPs are to be naturalised and legally allocated land, does this mean they will gain members in the upcoming district based elections? If yes, does that mean the natives of Puntland plan to give up seats to IDPs? Or does Puntland plan on naturalising IDPs but keep them marginalised when it comes to political matters?

Thanks. Naturalizing IDP's have been difficult. For Somalis coming from other regions are not but those from neighboring countries. As for our brethren, there is no need for naturalization but to exit the IDPs system which will take sometime. Otherwise, we are yet to reach such processes that include everyone-it will be more of central government level with Pl participating.
Thanks

The freedom to choose is not within Puntland but Khatumo itself. One's value is never dependent on others. When I went to Buhodle, I met both Khatumo and Puntland supporters-it was not so much of politics but the dire situation women and children were on that I was interested in.
Thanks

Interesting. Good answer Anisa. :)

Could it be that we are not ready but that we should be made ready for a female president. I do support Fatuma Dayib, we befriended since I came to know her mission. She will make the finest president.
Thanks

My final question is about the multiparty system in Puntland. Another member already asked a similar question so I'll quote him. Will the 2019 elections go as promised?

Welcome Minister,

My question is about the slow development of an electoral system in Puntland, why is the Gaas administration so slow on this issue?
President Gaas promised elections in January 2019, but there are only 3 years left, what is taking so long?

Sorry I am catching up :).
With research processes-we actually bring our work to research experts and scholars specializing on social issues topics. As a researcher myself, this is one area I don't take lightly.
Thanks

Hi Minister,
Thank you for taking the time to chat with us today.

I recently read that you mentioned that Puntland has the highest maternal mortality in Somalia. How does your Ministry plan to tackle this problem.

My ministry, health ministry, and I as a goodwill ambassador are tackling this issue. We have established health posts in remote areas. There are many advocacy processes going on. However with the lack of resources there are places that are still having no service.
In order to tackle this, I have engaged both Somali-Diaspora and non-Somali-healthcare-professionals in the states, Canada Europe, and Australia. We are now getting trainees for healthcare equipments such as incubators for premmies, heart monitoring ultrasound, etc.
I have been connected with Somali-Diaspora doctors that are now in the country and will help make difference.
Thanks

Minister,

Does this mean you support IDPs in their quest to be represented in Puntland politics?

When we say "IDPs" we are referring to their dire situation, the need to find a home, and established better life but what of their individual rights-I hope to see such era in our community where we do not discriminate our Somali brethren but partake partake representation and contribute as they already do.
Thanks

Wow, that's amazing!

When I came to the ministry, I had to do bit of housekeeping which took me almost 18 months, and luckily I have done much for the ministry to stand on its feet.
Likewise, there is much needed to be done in multiparty system. It may take place either ontime or sometime later but that depends on how much the people are ready for this since we serve the people's interest. Thanks

Hello Minister. Somalia is a hard place to be a woman so I am wondering what is being done in your region to accommodate internally displaced women in terms of employment and education.

Great question. Indeed it is. If it is hard for a female politician it would be extremely difficult for internally displaced women. Good news is in my ministry, we answer to all women. Recently, we experienced a backlash for establishing associations for khat sellers. Our defense was that we care not what the women do or her status, it is her individual right we protect.
As for internally displaced women, they benefit from housing, and employment through microfinance in small enterprises.
My ministry, at least in my term will not discriminate women despite her situation. We are here to serve not judge or discriminate.
Thanks

This question is not really related to your portfolio as a minister of women affairs. I am hearing rumours that president Abdiweli Gaas secretly signed the agreement in Kismayo conference that stipulates that the upcoming election will be based on 4.5. Could you deny or confirm this?

Hi Anisa Hajimumin

Do you follow & support the BlackLivesMatter movement and what is your opinion on the topic? Especially on the topic of Black womenhood?

Did you go to university/college in the west? If so what was your major?

What does the future have install for somaliland and Puntland as two neighbours that occupy the strategic Red Sea shipping lanes?

Can you see a political, economic and military alliance developing between somaliland and Puntland that mutually benifits both parties?

For social development purposes yes, I see that they can benefit both regions well in economical, social and educational partnership. They already do that and I am happy about it. I am looking forward to the people of both regions join for greater good purposes. It is the best option for the advancement of women and children-this is something I call upon all Somalis, but it is def something that needs to be highlighted.
In terms of militarily-perhaps I prefer we all take the humanistic route that is if we want to see Somalia built and developed like advanced societies otherwise I am not sure what will many hungry soldiers with AkA would bring. Thanks
