The reason Somalis call themselves after *The Father's Qabil* instead of *The Mother's Qabil* is because lineage both in Somali culture and in Islam goes through the Father, so in that point, he isn't wrong.

By race, what do you mean? Would you be ok with marrying an East African? Oromo,xabeshi etc? Or did you mean strictly Somali?
