I think our people don’t know much about this otherwise they would be taking in these poor kids especially if their qabil checks out

Our family took in several kids and they're like our siblings.

This is so true. We Somalis need to do this, instead of the children being given to Gaalo families and raised with their traditions. This is still so common back home alhamdulillah.

We cannot let these predators get hold of our children. This is when the qabiil system should kick in! Not to fight or abuse others, but to protect each other. If a child's parent is unfit, the closest relative/s should step in.
