If only if we listened to our Great Father!

If only we listened to our democratically elected leader who united the whole country and told Somalis to end their qabyaalad. Not to some deranged dictator who divided the country and encouraged qabyaalad.

Interesting speech, which actually contains a lot of wisdom. It also shows you that Somali is a very homogenous language. Actually the dialect M. Siyad Barre spoke and the dialect I speak (Burco) is practically the same. In the whole speech there is barely any word or sentence which was different from what I speak, just a few different pronunciations. Even though I critize him a lot for many things, he was undoubtedly a brilliant speaker.

@Abdurahman_somali

I found the Somali dialect is based on occupation not region. Why is it every Nomad speaks the same dialect regardless if he is in NFD, SL,PL,GM, JL? But once the occupation changes to coastal, urban living, or even farming you tend to see unique dialects develop. Maybe they need to review how they classify Somali dialects from regional to occupational.

I think Nomads preserve the original tongue, it has less influence from outsiders since not many Africans in the region are camel herders so their is not much loan word or dialects developing in the nomadic lifestyle as they don't tend to meet populations of people or converge culture they tend to push them out meaning preservation of their dialect, culture, values, etc and it's not mixed with anything and quite pure. Majority in the horn are Bantu or Oromo Farmers and few urbanite arab based cultures in the coastal areas with a few islanders who are fishermen(bajuni, mombasa, lamu).

Ilaahi ha uu naxariisto, Somalia is nothing without you :(

Hawiye don't like this dude and say he created darod vs hawiye war when he recruited M-O-D into military institutions who used to go around terrorizing any opposition leaders in mogadishu, rape, kill, jail. When MJ military Kacaan officers were killed and the rest fled and the Isaaq Kacaan Officer fled shortly after into Ethiopia, you were left with military institutions full of 'hawiye' and the tribalist siyad barre was scared it wasn't multi-tribal so you recruited M-O-D but u never expected the hawiye to revolt that and slowly were brought to your knees in the end.

Your last tactic to stay in power was to say 'DARODAY' protect me i am being attacked by Hawiye. No MJ responded except Morgan and his small 'abdirahin' saleban crew who rescued Siyad out of Hamar and took him to Garbaharey.

YOU as usual never answer the 'greviances' of other clans and guess what it just extends the civil war for another 30 years as the Hawiye feel their greviances has been un-answered and therefore hold it to be 'factual' accounts. You prefer just to do 'buranbur' threads for Siyad everyday, it's quite sad the state of affairs for beesha 'sade'. Does this clan ever 'evolve' or 'adapt' or 'change'. They are like fossil in the making with their constant 'same strategy' of 'buranbur' threads.

Stop ing about the past! the real question is what can you do to help?

It's clear we need to put aside our tribal differences until we wipe the floor with shabaab and the other enemies bribing our old heads to turn our land into a playground for arabs. Until we do that we will continue to be even worse than libya.

Mohamed Bin zayed's kid parties in knightsbridge fucking Rihanna, while somalis get bombed in our capital and all we can do is cuss each other over the worst invention known to man.....tribalism!

Wasn’t he from Somali galbeed?

I feel like at the beginning his heart was in the right place but he lost the plot at the end.
