Finally an unbiased post, yeah it was brilliant despite his checkered history you have to admit he was a true nationalist. Btw, that dialect is Rer Mudug dialect, we speak similatly except you guys use DH

I found the Somali dialect is based on occupation not region. Why is it every Nomad speaks the same dialect regardless if he is in NFD, SL,PL,GM, JL? But once the occupation changes to coastal, urban living, or even farming you tend to see unique dialects develop. Maybe they need to review how they classify Somali dialects from regional to occupational.
I think Nomads preserve the original tongue, it has less influence from outsiders since not many Africans in the region are camel herders so their is not much loan word or dialects developing in the nomadic lifestyle as they don't tend to meet populations of people or converge culture they tend to push them out meaning preservation of their dialect, culture, values, etc and it's not mixed with anything and quite pure. Majority in the horn are Bantu or Oromo Farmers and few urbanite arab based cultures in the coastal areas with a few islanders who are fishermen(bajuni, mombasa, lamu).
