That archeological studies are done in Somalia. We have such a strategic position in global trade and the fact that we were the middlemen between Rome and India is an honourable position. We have a maritime history well documented by a Greek in the periplus of the erythraean sea and some notes by Herodotus, but that’s about it. We need to do some more work with expert historians. Another reason why we should focus on our history is because we will be able to form our identity. We may find a script because you cannot trade without scriptures for identifying goods and cargo

(Funny note: The Greek tradesman wrote that the people in these city states were very stubborn and dark-skinned , in other words, us)

Our generation and the next are getting more and more interested in their history and I see a lot of Somalis doing a major in history,archaeology and linguistics.

I see a bright future ahead of us.
