Shit... several of my cousins went there and I fought a long and hard battle not to join them. The stories I heard about that place (which were probably not true) scared me. When I moved to Somaliland, I fought the same battle to avoided finishing the Quran. Went from dugsi to dugsi, starting afresh each time and hopping out each time I finish the 6th juz. I regret being such an idiot. They all finished the Quran before they hit 14 years old.
