In Australia, it’s more Arab-Somalis or cadcads but they’re not even that many.

I have never met a Barawaani in my life and never seen a Somali-Bantu in Australia.

Somali Bantus are not common in Europe.

More of them live in the United States as the US had a program helping Jubba Valley minorities in the early 2000s.

Benadiris and Majeerteens are overrepresented in the diaspora.

Disproportionate diaspora.

Rahanweyns are the most underrepresented major group in the diaspora.

They aren’t common but I do see them fairly enough in the Netherlands alongside the Cadcad & Barawani.

I may be wrong but it's highly unlikely

There are quite a few cad cads in UK. In london there is a large barawani community in the east part of the city

Maybe they are there, but I never see them. Maybe they walk past me and I think they are Nigerian/South African etc.

I don't see them at Somali weddings in my area or other Somali events.

They definitely look like Nigerians West Indians and they really are confused for them LMAOOO

I went to high school with these Somali siblings and practically everybody assumed they were from Suriname or the West Indies until they throughly explained that they were Somali which btw nobody believed expect for the other Somalis.

idk Somalis living here are very boring and people like to stick with their tribe and city (no matter what anybody says, we are a very tribalistic diaspora) nobody is really social with each other that much too.

Somali Bantu don’t associate themselves that much with Somalis. They’ll occasionally talk with you but they won’t go to your gatherings, they have their own gatherings and weddings apart from us.

This once really happened to me:

I was walking on a busy street. Somebody spoke Af-Somali to me from a little distance (approx. 4 meters), I started to look around me where the hell that sound came from I looked to my left, right, front, back, I couldn't see a Somali or somebody speaking at the moment. So I continued on walking, then the Benadiri guy started laughing and called me again and I noticed it was him who was speaking to me. We both had brief small talk and laughed at this incident.

Not looking like your own nation can be confusing I imagine. :mjlol:

How do you know if some is somali bantu ? Kkkk

I have never seen in my life & before tiktok I didn't know they existed .
Here in the Netherlands?

they are Muslim + generally speak af-Somali. They are as much covered up as Somalis and keep their distant from other minorities (basically they act like Somalis)
