This is only an estimate, but in 1985 the population in Berbera was estimated to be 70k. Whether it's entirely accurate, I am not sure. But it's been 40 years since then I'd assume they'd be bigger.620k in Berbera???

Yep. A lot of people don’t realize how much urbanization Somalia has gone through in the past few decades, mostly because there’s very little retrospective coverage showing the progress.
Instead, you still see people online repeating the same old lines like ‘we destroyed our country’, as if Somalia is frozen in 1993 ,when in reality, the country has gone through a nationwide construction and urban development boom.
According to the 2020 Household Budget Survey, around 64% of the population now lives in towns and cities, covering 114 towns and 30 major urban centers.
