I have changed my ways and am now a Salafi

Some of you might remember me from last year as the Ashari who was an ardent anti-Salafist that threw around the phrase “wahhabi” every chance I could. But after learning Arabic and reading the books of the Salaf, I have now realized that the Salafis were right all along.

Ash’ariyyah is a school that uses poisonous philosophical principles from Greeks and apply them to the Quran and Hadith. They are the modern descendants of the Jahmiyyah who negated/denied attributes of Allah, such as how He is above the creation or how the Quran was actually spoken by Him in an audible voice. This is why they’re commedically refered to as “Ahlul Aristotle” or “Ahlul Kalam”. The Salaf spent their lives refuting these deviants to keep the Muslims upon correct Aqeedah(creed).

Stay clear from this group and affirm what the Quran and Hadith say about Allah! Just like the companions and the following generations of righteous Muslims affirmed them!

As long as you fear Allah and keep away from toxic sectarianism then inshallah you’re on the straight path. I also regret some of my extreme posts towards Salafis here as they are not a monolithic and not all of them are unreasonable fanatics although they have their biases like every other major group in Ahl al-Sunnah. Intra-Sunni sectarianism is a cancer and it’s best not to partake in it as one’s Sunnism is not defined by speculative theology, one’s Sunnism is only defined by the beliefs that are compulsory and essential.

I would be careful calling Ash’aris the “descendants” of the Jahmiyyah. The uncomfortable truth many Salafis don’t like to acknowledge is, the Ash’aris were the majority scholars of the ummah for many centuries and the Hanbalis (who the Salafis attribute themselves to) were the minority of this Ummah for centuries. Ash’aris (who were usually Shafi’i and Maliki) and the Maturidi’s (who were usually Hanafi) were politically dominant for most of Islam’s significant history and they make up the majority of Islamic scholarship.

Weirdos who have internalised hate for Islam seem to be more prevalent everyday. Especially dinaz girl and the Humphrey guy. Talk to your fellow liberals tell them stop being so fixated on islam.

Generally those that leave Islam become right-wing, haven’t you seen Ayaan Hirsi Ali?

Not any more, lot of them follow liberalism. Ayan hirsi ali is an lying opportunist. Lot of ex muslims you see nowadays follow liberal agenda, which sums up to be let me live my life in any degenerate way I want. And no one can tell me any different. And I am going to bash islam because it is stopping me from living my “best life”.

Those aren’t ex-Muslims but “cultural Muslims” essentially non-practicing Muslims that believe in Allah and Muhammad SAW and that’s about it.

Those that completely leave the fold of Islam and reject the religion entirely are more often than not conservatives.

Which says a lot about Muslims that are conservative politically.

That doesn’t make sense if you are conservative you are more likely to hold onto traditional values. Lot of liberals hold a disdain for Islam they jut act nice. I don’t know why you hold them is such high esteem do people like macron and Trudeau even Islam? It seems like you want to fit in so badly

So people who leave Islam and become atheists are against abortion, same-sex marriage and zina?

Tell me- Pakistan, Somalia and Afghanistan- are these liberal countries or are these conservative countries?

I don't get how anyone can think what the sharia outlines is liberal. Islam by its very nature is socially conservative.

Conservative is stuff like being against abortion and revealing clothing in public.

Conservativism and the Republican Party are two different things. I seriously doubt Ayan Hirsi Ali is very concerned about being anti-abortion or anything like that. The Republicans have a lot of Zionist elements- Ben Shapiro, Robert Spencer, Alex Jones and Fox, for example. They push a lot of overtly anti-Muslim stuff because a lot of their party has a Zionist agenda.

Of course I am against the Republicans but the ideology of the Democrats is really against Islam. The Republicans on a lot of issues are closer to Islam than the Democrats- being against abortion, for example. But I'm not with either of them.

Anyways, it's crazy to push this idea that apostates are conservatives. How many apostates are seriously against things like abortion and zina? It's true that Fox will let you be openly anti-Muslim moreso than MSNBC but that doesn't mean apostates are conservatives. Actual conservatism is pretty much always based on religion. People who are anti-abortion for example are pretty much always religious types.

on the subject of Ayaan Hirsi Ali... she is a liberal and attacks Islam on the grounds that it doesn't align with liberalism

"She praises Western liberalism at the same time as she suggests that Islam is so incompatible with it that Western democracies need to consider suspending their core values in the service of self-preservation."

"Even as she says she has “thought deeply about the seeming paradox of using illiberal means to achieve liberal ends,”"

I think you also have to take into consideration with the fact that we are also Africans & black, we’re not Asians or associated with White people like other Muslims.

conservatives wouldn’t like us either way, if we were Muslims or not.

I think "conservative" gets kind of confusing because it basically gets used to mean two totally different things

-groups like The Republicans, right-wing, alt-right, etc... a lot of these groups in the West have racist elements

but then there's also conservative in the sense of socially conservative.... dressing modestly, avoiding zina, etc...

I was meaning conservative in the second sense. Like, for example, Pakistan is a conservative society. I believe in being conservative in that sense but I'm not a Republican or anything like that. no one should be mistreated because of their race.

Ohhh yeah you’re right in that context.

I mainly associate conservatives with the republicans, right-wing & alt-right etc
