It’s the name of the sayid’s favourite horse.
Xiin = Some thing that runs fast
Finiin= Something that comes off from its position with force (not sure about the translation)

A bit of a background:
Sayid Maxamed Cabdulle Xasan wanted to form an alliance with Islam Faarax Islam Adam of Mudug, and as tradition would have it, Sayid Maxamed asked Islam Faarax his sister, Fatima's hand in marriage, and in return, Islam Faarax engaged in a bit of a brinkmanship by asking Sayid Maxamed to return Xiin*, and his mother Finiin, which was originally in Islam Faarax's stable, and robbed by Daraawiish in a previous raid. It was a bluff on Islam Faarax's part, and Sayid Maxamed understood it as such, and checkmated Islam Faarax by calling his bluff, and by handing over both Xiin, and Finiin back to Islam Faarax. The story has a sad ending, but you get the gist.

Postscript:
In describing Xiin's standing in the theatre of war, its speed, and colour, Sayid Maxamed said:
  • *Xamar weeye oo midab fardood, kala xiriir roone
  • Xawaariyo kabtiyo raaxo iyo, xawli iyo jeefag
  • Xaggii loo eryaba waa, gammaan xulashadiisiye

Verses from poet:
  • Xayow Faaraxow hadal rag waa, loo xutubiyaaye
  • Nin xishood leh baan ahay haddaan, lay xistiyahayne
  • Xabiib baan ahaa jeer kufriga, laygu xaasidaye

And kinda distantly related to Abdullahi Yusuf, if I recall correctly. I met him as a kid. Visited our house when I was a kid to discuss business and politics with my dad as my aabo was something of a big shot back then. Other than that I think there are few well-known Somali musicians in there as either relatives or close friends of my parents but I don't recall their names.
