I'm related to Iman. The one who married David Bowie. I met her hooyo as a child before she passed away (at least I recall being told she did). She used to come to my mother's shop and chat her up sometimes. My mother recalls her hilariously bemoaning Iman's wedding "Can you believe it?! That girl! Having me attend a wedding at a church! A church!"
And kinda distantly related to Abdullahi Yusuf, if I recall correctly. I met him as a kid. Visited our house when I was a kid to discuss business and politics with my dad as my aabo was something of a big shot back then. Other than that I think there are few well-known Somali musicians in there as either relatives or close friends of my parents but I don't recall their names.
