This was actually an interesting post but I question how legit it is. I can buy East African Bantu languages not having a specific word or term for the distant future but I think they probably have words for descendants and future generations that are synonymous. I also doubt that there was no commodification of time among these Bantus, they probably had some proverbs and fables that dealt aging and losing time. ...Ooor maybe they were knuckle-dragging cannibals and I'm giving them too much credit? Anyways, the John Mbiti guy didn't specialize in linguistics so I think my suspicion is valid.
