Not only that the ethiopians was ruled by italians for 5 years until haile selassie begged the british for 5 years to kick the italians out from his country

It’s because the second time round, Italy was just concerned with killing Ethiopians. They justified covering Ethiopia with mustard gas because an Italian pilot had been shot down and allegedly while still alive on the ground, was pulled out of his fighter plane and tortured by the locals. The Ethiopian account of the story differs. But yeah, the Italians didn’t really care about ‘conquering’ Ethiopia during the Second Italo-Ethiopian War. That’s why there is no Italian influence in Ethiopia unlike Eritrea
