OPINION I am grateful that we delayed the development of Somalia.

I feel very optimistic about the situation in Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, and the NFD region. The Somali speaking region is very underdeveloped and this region is rich in natural resources as mentioned in historical resources. I have examined the history of our people and noticed that weren't unproductive despite the fact that we live in a country with a harsh environment. For instance, the city of Berbera used to be called by the British the most important on the Arabian gulf (the gulf of Aden). Our people created an economical miracle in Berbera, they imported goods of all sorts from the interior of the horn of Africa and dominated the trade between the interior and Arabia. A noble said once, "He who commands at Berbera, holds the beard of Harar in his hands". The economic influence Berbera had wasn't limited to Harer, it extended to Aden Yemen. The British, the rulers of Aden from 1839 to 1967 as most of you know, noted that in 1848, a long time before they developed Aden's international port in the 20th century, 80 percent of their colony's revenue( 80 f**ing %) came from duties charged on products brought from Berbera.

Somalia was just as rich as Somaliland. The sultanate of Geledi was a very powerful sultanate with an army of 40k soldiers in 1843, which means their army was easily among the top ten armies in the world, countries like Portugal and Belgium had an army of 40k or less at the time. Afgooye was prosperous to an extent that people used to say there isn't a poor person in Afgooye. The British Anthropologist Virginia Lulling noted that Afgooye was an extremely large and wealthy city with 80k residents which qualified it as on of the biggest cities on the eastern cost of Africa at the time.

All that success we had was destroyed at the turn of the 20 century by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan campaigns of terror in the north which disrupted the productive coastal cities in Berbera, Zelia, and laasqory. In the south the Italians started running the economy and they actually failed in running Somalia without the Somalis, just like how the British failed in running India without the British. Before the British rule of India, India produced 25 percent of the global economy. This not my personal opinion, this what the economist Dr. George Ayittey said. The built few fancy buildings in Mogadishu and a road and that's it. The British inherited a dead Somaliland because of the madness of Mohammed Abdullah hassan. They limited Somaliland to a source of food status after it dominated the trade between Aden and harer not according to Somalis but according to their own records.

We gained our independence in the 1960s, what have been through is a natural thing that many nations went through. India had a gdp per capita of 84 dollars in 1960 (Somalia's GDP per capita was 65 dollars). They were extremely poor after all the years of economic exploitation by the British who ended up costing themselves a lot. Today they aren't rich but they have a gdp per capita of 2099 dollars (Djibouti's GDP per capita is 3000). A lot of people have made huge wealth during the last 59 years in India and this what I believe would happen in the very near future in Somaliland, Djibouti, Ogaden, NFD and Somalia and that would reflect on us in the diaspora. Just don't give up my fellow Somalis on your clan heritage which proved to be successful in stabilizing Somaliland and Djibouti.

Yes say no to tribalism and unite under one entity which is SOMALIWEYN. give up with the "Hawiye is bad" "no its ishaaq" be quiet. We shall unite

Somalis with good leadership that is not biased and is based on merit will easily dominate east africa politically militarily and economically that is just a simple fact . Somalis have knowledege from around the world ull find somali neuro scientists and somali computer engineers , we have the ability but not the leadership. A somalia with a united consience will develop quickly and somaliweyn will no longer be a dream but the hurdle of qabiil civil war cuqdad and "land land" and also odey qabiils must be overcome.

Tribalism is good, one of the reasons we dominated business in Kenya is Tribalism. There's nothing wrong with that. Tribalism is the driving force of the Somali people. The reason why we are Somaliland is a democracy is tribalism. We don't have to unite under one entity.

I have nothing against tribalism to others ethnic groups like Kenyan bantus or Xabashi people. But tribalism within somali's is bad.
