Apparently I am a White woman. Weeks ago, a famous Congress Black man died. Elijah Cummings. I thought I knew him. He was familiar to me, because of how he looked. Short, Bald head, with big lips & a forceful thunderous voice.


Then today, I hear on CNN ---or rather---I saw---the same dead Elijaah Cummings in news having cancer.



I was like, what??? Wait a minute. Is this Deja Vu? Isn't he dead? I googled my curiosity ---ileyn there is another congress man I was mistaking with the dead one. All my life I thought they were one person. Every time one appeared on the television, I thought it was one same person!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I seriously had an awakening. I respect them immensely because of their history. I would nod my head when they speak, little did I know, I was nodding to my own sense of unrecognized prejudice and disease. Gosh its sooooo upsetting!

What you are suffering from is the Mandela Effect. I myself have seen this happen throughout my life. It started when someone insisted that Nelson Mendela died in the 80s. Berenstein(stain), sketchers (skechers), coco(a) puffs etc are popular examples.
