Before the interview begun we shook hand then she said ama show you around the office later so she began asking me about my qualifications etc which i answered then towards the end she asked me where i am from i told her somalia i thought that was weird then right after she goes so we have other people we interviewing for the same position that i should hear back from her by next week so i immediately stood up shook her and told her to have good day. I left after i got home i realized i didn't stay for her office tour. I don't know i must have subconsciously checked out as soon as she said shes interviewing others i took it as if she was telling me am not it.
I dont know if shes going to call or not i suspect she wont lol

It was just an office job, i didnt mind her asking i just thought it was weird because i was not expecting since it has nothing to do with the job. I think she asked because she was curious and it just came out lol you can tell she regretted right after lmao

Should have played it smart and mentioned the area your from in whatever city you reside in and if she dug deeper and meant whats your background you could've replied does it really matter?
And jokingly should've said I feel like I'm at border control lol
That would've made her uncomfortable & stopped her from asking silly questions

If she likes to interogate ethnic minorities she chose the wrong job...she should've applied to be a pig

I hate the question "where are you from". I always interpret it wrongly. One time the train company was conducting a research among its costumers. So the person doing the questionnaires asked me where I came from (he was asking where my journey started, which station) and I said I'm from Somalia. He was perplexed and said in a full train, you took the train all the way from Somalia. Everyone looked at me, ceebta aduunka
