Somalia is part of Arab civilisation. Our customs, cuisine, & language are heavily influenced by Arabians.

We don’t have our own civilisation. Also culture & civilisation are not the same thing, North & South America may speak different languages & cultures due to having different colonisers, but they’re still part of Western civilisation.

Islam has transmitted customs that originated in Arabia into Somali culture, there’s no way you can deny that. Plus, our cuisine is not mainly influenced by India, we don’t traditionally eat curry etc. The only similarity we may share with Indian cuisine is some spices & sambus, but that’s as far as it goes. Our dishes are the same as Arabia/Egypt & may have slight Somali twist.

We have also adopted the Thawb/Galibya & Abaya as our own. Not to mention, our language has a large lexical of Arabic words & Arabic is our second language.

We’re clearly part of the Arab world, we don’t have a radically different identity like the Indians or Persians.
