Technically we do, your fathers name is your middle name and your Grandfathers name would be your surname.

don't like the surnames. they will put my grandfather's name first then my name and people were calling me my grandfather's name instead of my name unless i tell them to call my name.

I'm talking about in the western world. On your passport, birth certificate etc what do you have written as your surname? It's your grandfathers first name. That's the way it is. It not that complicated.

I think that's just a you and your family problem. My brothers, father, grandfather etc dont have the same first names so nobody mistakes them.

i don't live in the west. where i live they write my grandfather's name first then my name second and my father's name third. so, people call me my grandfather's name.

i live in Asia from Somalia.
don't know why they do that but it seems that it has something to do with Somali passport.
