Hypocrites don't succeed: The Case of Asha Ilyas and Somali Media

When Asha Ilyas was raped and murdered, there was an avalanche of Somalis trying to use this horrific case to insinuate that Puntland tolerates rape and abuse. Meanwhile, every day little Aysha's are raped or molested in Somalia and their rapists go free. In fact, AMISOM routinely abuses Somali girls and women and even murders them and steals their organs. Yet these fake nationalists, don't speak out about this!!


In fact, Puntland has laws/legislations to prevent rape and even molestation. In addition, Puntland invested in a forensic team to investigate crimes of this nature.

This must be the most famous rape case in Somalia, alx it ended well and justice was served. So many foreigners praised this move.

I noticed the hypocrisy too. Many girls have been raped in the south and Somaliland but you don’t see these groups trying to address that. Using rape to score political/tribal points is sick and shows these people have an inferiority complex. They have been slandering Puntland and calling it “kufsiland” all over social media spreading their bs propaganda.
