May Allah make it easy for her, was the guy drug addict? since he said she gave him hard core drugs.

He needs execution by firing squad but we not in Somalia he is lucky.

I've received an update, and unfortunately, it appears that the individual in question was dealing with serious mental health issues and was on antidepressants and other medications. I was mistaken in assuming it was related to illegal drugs. It's perplexing why they would arrange a marriage for their son, who seemingly requires mental health care, to someone's daughter. The individual went into a frenzied state, engaging in a heated argument with the young woman, suspecting her of drugging him. Tragically, this escalated into a rampage, resulting in her untimely death.

May Allah grant her mercy. They tied the knot just two months before my sister did. Some family friends and relatives attended her funeral. The guy is likely to be placed in a mental asylum, where he rightfully belongs.

Even if he wasn't dealing with 'mental health issues,' Somali women are not immune to intimate partner abuse or violence. In general, men are more aggressive and more likely to kill women, especially those they are involved with. The most dangerous person to a woman is a partner/ex-partner. It's also the one we first suspect in such cases.

Step outside and experience reality. My mother is at the heart of the Somali intelligence force, and I've heard countless stories and narratives. However, I've never come across any instances of Somali women being harmed by their husbands or falling victim to honour killings back in our homeland.

Of course am not denying anything can happen and we not in Jannah, but it is rare or even unheard off of a sane stable Somali man causing death or domestic violence to female family relatives compared to other races and cultures especially in Muslim world.

Hopefully this case does not reach Tiktok Femcel community and their usual self hatred antics and watch how in couple weeks on tiktok they will start genders on this tragic case.

I have stepped outside. :ftw9nwa:

Domestic abuse happens even back home. Domestic abuse isn't just 'honour killing.'
Gender-Based Violence GBV is prevalent in all three regions of Somalia, including among highly conflict-affected regions (eg, South Central) and those less affected by conflict. Our estimates suggest that, collectively, physical and sexual violence affect 36% of women and 22% of men across all three regions, which is consistent with estimates reported from other countries in the Middle East and North African regions.
Migration and internal displacement, as well as minority clan status were also associated with several forms of violence victimisation and perpetration among men and women. These findings highlight the power imbalance associated with minority status and risk for GBV. Minority populations, whether displaced, migrant or a minority clan population, often have smaller (if any) social support structures, lower access to or efficacy in seeking justice and protection and may experience a multitude of stressors such as economic and housing instability, discrimination and challenges with acculturation that can may increase risk of GBV victimisation and/or perpetration.27 39 With approximately 1.1million people displaced within Somalia by conflict or disaster as of 2016,40 methods to support displaced or migrant populations as well as those in minority populations is important for both prevention of and response to GBV in all regions of Somalia.

I think it is just as delusional for us to believe this does not happen merely because it did not occur with us or it is not common among us. I don't assume all people have the same experiences, nor do I project my life experiences onto others. I suggest you do the same to maintain balance.

If your concern is regarding the disparagement of Somali men by disgruntled women, aka femcels. In that case, that is your blind spot, which may be preventing you from considering other perspectives that are less savoury.

A total of 2376 women and 2257 men participated in the survey. One in five men (22.2%, 95% CI 20.5 to 23.9) and one in seven (15.5%; 95% CI 14.1 to 17.0) women reported physical or sexual violence victimisation during childhood. Among women, 35.6% (95% CI 33.4 to 37.9) reported adult lifetime experiences of physical or sexual intimate partner violence (IPV) and 16.5% (95% CI 15.1 to 18.1) reported adult lifetime experience of physical or sexual non-partner violence (NPV). Almost one-third of men (31.2%; 95% CI 29.4 to 33.1) reported victimisation as an adult, the majority of which was physical violence. Twenty-two per cent (21.7%; 95% CI 19.5 to 24.1) of men reported lifetime sexual or physical IPV perpetration.

Doesn't this study just show the men suffer more from childhood and also highly during adulthood too.

You are correct. Men are victims, too.

Ilaahay ha uu naxariisto.

This is exactly why women should not tolerate even the slightest hint of misogyny and violence. Not to mention love-bombing etc, nor allow a man to rush her into marriage. Unfortunately, some sisters are very careful and still end up with a psycho, some of them only reveal themselves when they have secured the woman. Allahu Aclam.

Exactly. No matter how much women do their due diligence before the marriage, a man can mask himself perfectly until he has secured the marriage. vise versa

Yh I agree to take caution, but am so baffled and kind of annoyed how this guy was clearly a mental patient and was on hard core medical drugs but yet the family decided to marry him off to a sane person. Our family made sure to do FBI background check on my brother in law and I promise if him being on mental health medical drugs came up they would not be seeing each other.

Somali parents can be fucking evil pawning off their mentally ill son to someone’s daughter, they think marriage is a cure to everything, so disgusting

I’ve heard of too many cases like this.

In fact, many men who failed to launch, are taken back home to find a girl, who just wants financial stability. They use women as rehabilitation centres for broken men.

The cases of IPV are nuanced. Men have different issues with IPV, like not being believed or assumed to have been the aggressor. Even in cases where they are not. It is not taken seriously, could be turned against them and is a source of shame/embarrassment. This case is about a woman (victim) who happens to be Somali-British and a man who is Somali-British (potentially on SSRIs), which may contribute to homicidal thoughts or behaviours. Despite this, even in cases with the absence of mind-altering pharmacological agents, domestic violence still occurs. In addition, given the gender disparity, it is more women who are victims of IPV and are killed by their partners or ex-partners than men. This can be verified through court records. I speak generally and according to the data I've seen in North America. I presume this gender disparity in victims of IPV holds in England as well.
