The people in Gedo are working in tandem with Ethiopia. Same thing with Hiraan and bakool. These regions have very close relationship with Ethiopia. They use them as shield against al Shabab and fgs. U will remember when fgs proposed bringing in Egyptian troops and kicking out Ethiopia there was massive uproar from these areas . Ethiopia not going anywhere today because they have a lot of support from key people live in that area . Majority of fighting right now is not even Ethiopia it’s Somalia on opposite sides in jubbaland waters it’s fgs jubbaland or al shabab is killing each other

HSM would rather Ethiopians be swarming around gedo than swallow his pride and bury the hatchet.
AS is a massive threat to the south and its advancement, there must be gurmad garabstaag from both governments from a pragmatic point of view. Whatever bad blood and naceyb there is, should be pushed to the back and Gurgurte should be working with the Black shadow of Qabri Dahar to fight off AS.
Also when the shadow is gone there will be a power vacuum in jubaland. What is the plan then? The far south could go up in flames.

Your reasoning is flawed sxb.. By comparing California and Washington with JL and Muqdisho is simply like comparing apples and bananas, Somalia is an unstable country which is still recovering from the civil and still battling shabab, as you there are 20 thousand foreign troops including Ethiopian troops in southern Somalia to support the weak government in muqdisho.. Naturally HSM should've focused on defeating the shabab while bringing the federal states closer to the government, what have he done instead? Focused on excessive useless travellings, weakened the SNA, focused on tribal politics, changed the constitution to grant himself an extension when, alienated the federal members states.. The attack on JL had nothing to do the nations interest or well being but everything to do with HSM ambitions and greed..
Madoobe will go sooner or later, but maybe this is not an important thing at the moment.. I rather see HSM go since he has destroyed more than Madoobe ever could've done in Somalia.. Beside the Ethiopians in Gedo are not driven by Madobe, but they're afraid to have Egypt in their border area under the guise of peacekeeping, yet another miscalculated deal and dobbelt play HSM, all this to push through his illegal constitution changes and extend his term.. No matter how you turn and twist it the blame for this would always fall in HSM and his poor leadership.

Comparing US states with Somali Federal Member states shows me you’ve got no business analyzing even the texture and colour of xaar let alone Somali politics.
It's not irrelevant; you have a really limited scope. Gedo is closer to being what KG is to the FGS than an actual subregion of JL; its ENDF presence predates JL by decades.
The Ethiopian presence in Gedo is a tertiary issue for Madoobe/HSM. Had HSM been serious about ENDF, then he would have started in KG. He isn't interested because they are already a paper admin.
If Madoobe has ties with Ethiopia, he wouldn't be hosting the ONLF, he would have a good relationship with Cagjar, he wouldn't need Kenya as a counterweight, and they would have a presence in Lower Juba.
HSM is posturing and would love to sway the Ethiopians into a compromise above all else. Madoobe prefers the status quo to HSM trying to subvert Gedo.
He isn’t coming for kismayo this time he is trying to establish parallel admin in Gedo. Still risky especially without laying ground work ,should have had way more jubbaland Gedo supporters in back pocket with bribes and promise of federal positions and salaries . My stance is that its not really HSM but FGS as a whole which was forced to attack this time, people only look at them attacking but ignore the fact that JL and Ethiopians started the first violent clashes attacking SNAReading HSM and the word right gave me a scare
The Federal system in Somalia is similar to the US in many ways but if you read the 2012 constituiton its different in many other ways, depends imo but the example I gave was valid and was just a way of trying to put things into perspective
