They were talking about Somalia having to become a 'unified state' with control of along all of its sovereign territory, capable institutions to meet the major challenges like droughts and that Somalia currently relies on foreign aid, clan issues and so forth. I have to wonder, with the diminished funding of ATMIS by EU, recent attack to Buulo Mareer, SNA success in HS and GM, whats the end goal of UN and Somalias ”partners”. ATMIS troops are withdrawing and to begin with weren’t going to be helpful. How will SNA protect itself without heavy weaponrary?

That PL is ready for talks and they wanted clarifications from HSM that proposals from the NCC are a starting point for further consultation and it's not codified into law or fed into the constitution-making process before the process is fully inclusive.

The March and May meetings of the National Consultative Council resulted in three governance proposals: (i) the revision of the National Security Architecture; (ii) a model for fiscal federalism; and (iii) an electoral model. The proposed electoral model provides for one-person, one-vote elections at the different layers of government. This aspect has generally been well received. Other elements of the NCC electoral proposal – including a shift to a Presidential system, a move to two political parties, and the alignment of electoral terms have received more mixed reactions. I welcome clarification from His Excellency the President that proposals from the NCC are a starting point for further consultation.

With that in mind, I urge the Federal Government to set out its plans for a rigorous and inclusive consultation process – including precise options for consultation and how agreement will be reached before decisions are codified into law or fed into the constitution-making process. Puntland remains outside the NCC process but has indicated it will engage directly with the Federal Government. I encourage this dialogue to start urgently to ensure the process is fully inclusive.

HSM has been humbled. He thought that the arms embargo could of been lifted whilst pursuing a HAG policy.

Until there is agreement among all of Somalia’s stakeholders, the arms embargo will never be lifted.

What did the failed Culusoow expect? The entire country from north to south is embroiled in conflict. Alhamdillilah the arms embargo wont be lifted. SNA has already been tribalized with the firing of Odawaa and Biixi.

@bidenkulaha is extremely irrational, Somalia is a nation of tribal and terrorist chaos. Their are already rumours that HSM has fuelled tribal fighting within SWS , PL and JL. These myopic tactics will only further solidify Somalia's infamy.

Somalia's 'military', if you can call it that, is simply a hodge-podge of armed fighters often segregated by tribe. Hilariously, the only force in Somalia that has not been tainted by tribalism is American owned Danab.

Instead of lifting the embargo, the UN should utilise Somalia as an experiment in international development. Somalia's borders should be guarded by an international garrison poised to seize any and all weapons arriving in the nation.

For HSM to prance around in America and have the gall to even suggest lifting the embargo displays his naivety.

before delving into the negative, I admire HSM for even attempting to break this seal that has been on our country for over 30 years.

that’s where it ends though unfortunately. His treatment of the cidaan, family run government, and shady profile of individuals around his vicinity have made an important milestone in Somalia’s sovereignty, into a dreaded event which could implode the country from its foundation. He doesn’t show responsibile leadership in any regard (attending Minister meetings as a president) and the IC can see it from a mile away.
