My personal opinion on khat is at least trading them with fish is good for our economy. It’ll create a market for our fish traders that wasn’t there before. And our capital (especially crucial US dollars) won’t be drained by Kenya. Also opening up Kenyan Khat instead of just Ethiopian Khat/smuggled Kenyan should at least see competitive prices.

However it is very sad how addicted Somalis are to khat and how our Presidents are effectively drug dealers.

Of course this is shameful however it’s real politik

Raila is winning.
As for the khat issue I don't chew khat nor do I support its consumption.
What is hypocritical is closing an industry ran by Somalis because the Kenyan Khat 60% of the revenues goes to Somalis while the 40% goes to non somalis.It creates jobs for Somalis both in Kenya and Somalia.

The hypocrisy is stopping Kenyan khat and allowing Ethiopian khat and monopolising on that trade.

If Khat is supposed to be banned which I support both Kenyan and Ethipian khat should be suspended or entirely be banned.

Alternatively you can impose import taxes on khat and the government coffers might generat some revenue.
Also there should be a khat regulating body with should look into:
The quantity of importing khat to Somalia and set a quota for both countries.

They should also have quality control inspection because sometimes you don't know what they spray onto the khat to make it fresh and when the drug stays for long it becomes more potent.

As for Kenyan elections Raila is going to win either way.Ruto winning is like Kheyre winning Presidential elections.
