These laws are a waste of time. They are being passed by an unelected legislature whose only mandate is the completion of the constitution and the holding of a constitutional referendum and 1man 1 vote elections in 3 years' time.
I can't even find copies of these laws, let alone any in depth analysis. They are just stamping laws drafted in Nairobi.

The immigration law will have an immediate effect, the NISA law will give the courts power over arrests, the sanctions law will allow the government to seize assets of terrorists, the Data Protection act will create a new institution, the electricity bill will set in motion a state commissioned electric grid (likely to be funded by international partners).
I agree with quite a few will have weak implementation but that’s a by product of a weak state. These laws will become a lot more important in the long run like the fishing one. Will be an important source of revenue.
Regardless a lot of these laws are critical to debt relief. I disagree with the government’s mandate only being constitution. It’s securing our borders and removing AMISOM and debt relief first

Walahi this cabinet has been shutdown for over a year. There’s zero money coming in. This is why you see so many bills being passed as a way to falsely claim activities. The country is federal, and you need federal states to move forward.

These are laws for the gareen states boowe which I doubt would even be implemented there. Doesn't concern us. It's waste of time as you said.
