This was reported a couple of weeks ago right after A Madoobe travelled to Jibouti. The same thing is happeding in Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, and Sudan.

It is said to be part of a bigger plan by the US to counter, if not halt the Silk Road project.

I think that tweet meant; just like how Socotra was sold to UAE, Somalia has now gone the same route with one of our islands (map shown in one of the pictures).

Actually, two of the larger Socotra archipelago, or as reer Bari call it 'Suqadhari' had been populated by Somalis, and still do, if in smaller number at Hadibu, the largest city, and are said to have been gifted by Boqor Osman to the then King of Yemen. It is mostly now resided by Yemenis, and Indians in larger number.

*Samha, and Abdulkuri are the other two - can not recall the 3rd.

UAE needs Somalia. The relationship will become less one sided in the long term imo. We just need to continue developing. Our population and wealth increase will mean more Somalis in the UAE and they will want to invest and create closer defence ties as they are a small country.

Bro these people dont get it, You give and Take, We can have UAE " Tec, Supplies, Business, " we as Somalis already use Dubai ports, why not build closer ties and get the Money we need to Start Reconstruction, I would rather Work with UAE, then Ethiopia, Uganda, China & all the other useless countries that Formajjo got Close with. For sure. UAE is tiny. 90% of the country is expats who come and go. We can fill this gap with millions of Somalis as we become stable and educated. They’re already our major trading partner. They need a country like ours to be their ally as they have the money but not the land and people to invest much more in.

Yes they do take advantage of us right now but so does every country. I’d rather be close ally of theirs however than be dominated by our much more populous and militarily capable neighbours who’s interest is completely dependent on a weak Somalia. Whereas UAE desperately wants an allied Somalia

You will notice they will only ever allude to some "benefit" that does not exist. They will tell you to sell the entire country and your religion, it will benefit you.

Some are here to promote such an agenda and it is not clear they are Somali and others are brainwashed and deluded.

UAE is a proxy for Israel/US/UK. Anywhere they show up they lay the groundwork to hand it over to them, the most hostile governments to Muslims with the history of only leaving destruction in their wake, there is no example in history of them leaving any "benefit" in any Muslim country they have touched, only destruction.
