well I would say Eritreans on the whole don’t look to dissimilar from Somalis but I wouldn’t say Isu looks particularly Somali. He has a very Arab look

I can’t say for sure how many speak Arabic. The Rashaida are Arabs so all of them speak it. Many of the Tigre do as a lingua franca and a lot of Tigrinyas who do business or lived in Sudan also do. I would say 25% are completely fluent and another 25% are semi fluent. My father and I speak it fluently

I’m Tigrinya (not Jeberti though) but my father grew up in Kassala. I lived in Riyadh with him for a few years during my childhood.

The Beni Amer are Beja aren’t they? They have their own pan ethnic label similar to “Habesha” which includes the Tigre, Beja, Hedarab and a few other ethnic groups.
