Libya is a stone throw away from Italy and Libya has the necessary infrastructure and decades of experience in the industry. Kenya-Somali deal seems quite unfeasible to the Italians. It would take at least a decade before it would yield profit.

This seems like rubbish mostly because ENI failed to find any oil in the Kenyan/Somalia disputed waters.

This is just a stupid speculation. 1) Why wasn’t Kenya invited/hosting the meeting? 2) Why would Somalia and Italy split potential profits with Kenya when they can split the profits by themselves? Makes absolutely no sense. If Somalia won the case and it was determined the disputed area belongs to Somalia, why would Italy and Somalia need Kenya to drill in Somalia?

The meeting had nothing to do with Kenya and this speculation you’re peddling is farfetched if anything.
