How Somalis See The State?

One of the thing that suprises me the most is how Somalis view the state. They have this impression when their elected or nominated to a post, that it belongs to them like some 'shop front' they own. We must remind them of the following facts.

1. The state is funded by locals(that small lady in the market busting her ass off and payin taxes owns the state) not YOU(who was either elected or nominated)
2. The state is internationally funded using the Somali name or 'Regional' Name not your 'personal awoowe name'. This is their resources NOT YOURS
3. If a person is elected to lead the state whether regional or federal, everyone irrespective of personal/clan interest must RESPECT the people wishes and respect the term of that office. If your nominated to a position(not thru elections), your position term reports to the elected leader.
4. The govt workers are not elected or nominated, their not politicians, they must be selected thru 'merit' based on the skills required. They keep turning even these poor souls into political issues by replacing them constantly.

Finally every aspect of the state need to be taught YOUR 'servants' to the people everyone in government, if the people don't exist, your government doesn't either. Stop working for your own short term interests but the public interest, if the public is weak, the govt is weak.

When I see them dancing/songs to them they think their RULERS ama inay iyagu meesha lee yihin. Infact it's you the leaders who has to 'bend the knee' to the people becuz this is their state not yours. When I see them seating in 'fake gold covered chairs' like some mighty ruler, I cringe, it's your people who should be sitting there and you should be sitting on a 'jambal'.

Waxaa ka khaldan the whole idea behind the state is my view.

I cringe when I hear opposition getting violent at an elected govt, horta yaa ku soo dortay adigu to get violent? ninkan nidaamki buu soo maray, nidaamka ayaa sheegayso sidu ku tagi karo. It's absolutely insanity when u see Somali politics, it's like watching some mad max movie in reality. I've seen this insanity both regional n federal, even tho 'way kala daran yihin' only none is 'sane'.
