No it’s not fair in my opinion. A desert region having hundreds of billions of dollars to themselves is ridiculous. Should be 90 % to the FGS and 10 % to the states.

Why? Texas does not share 90% of its oil with Washing DC, neither does California its movie revenue. The Feds will get their cut, but the money belongs to the people of the region and not a centrally located power. The states need to be respected if this Federal system is to work.

@Libaaxseendheer PL and the FGS have come to an agreement now though.

Late 2019 will be when ours is fully surveyed and bid rounds probably in the second half of 2020 to late 2020.

It depends, 88.2 % of the oil revenue in Alaska for example goes back to Washington.

Movie revenue is completely different to offshore oil revenue.

Alaska is an empty outpost, my example still stands, Texas and Oklahoma or Lousiana do not pay 90% of oil revenue to DC. States rights are always respected, thats the only way for a Federal System to work. They are all like minnie countries.

@Libaaxseendheer the fact PL is standing alone and not being grouped with the other fed states and getting our own event shows how much oil we have.

The Indian Ocean blocks south of PL have around 30 billion barrels, the whole Somali Indian Ocean has 100 billion barrels you do the math.

For offshore natural resources, only 27 % of the revenue goes back to the federal state though. The vast majority of the revenue should go to the FGS. So don’t use the U.S as an example if you’re trying to argue that the federal states should get 90 % of the revenue from our offshore natural resources.

Don’t even bother responding to him lol, he’s only crying because his destitute landlocked region is destined for poverty until the end of times.

Like I said we’ll throw him a few crumbs maybe even use them as maids.

:cosbyhmm:

But 90%.

Since it's offshore blocks it's hard for the federal states to take a big cut but they can ask for funding for projects etc.

If it is offshore, the goverment can take it all if they want to.

Onshore they must share with the region/state they found oil in.

Those were only 15 southern blocks. The south has way more than 30 billion barrels. We probably have more than 100 billion off of Puntland.
