My father was born and raised in the middle east(basically a cultural arab) and seemed to dislike islamic rituals and practises. He would only do them once in a blue moon around other "muslims", do to pressure and cultural image. My mother was never religious during her young motherhood but slowly started to get more religious after her divorce.
